The family: domestic Church
Christ wanted to be born and grow in the Holy Family of Joseph and Mary. From its origins, the family has been the first nucleus of Christian life, where faith is taught, lived and transmitted. Every believing home is a domestic Church, a place where the love of God is first preached through mutual self-giving and daily example.
Fathers and mothers, first evangelizers
Parents are the first preachers of the faith. With their words and above all with their example, they teach their children to live in God.
They foster vocations and help discover the personal call of each family member. Holiness is learned at home, in patience, forgiveness, work and daily prayer.

Community of faith, hope and charity
The Christian family is a communion of persons, reflecting the communion that exists in God between Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Through prayer, the sacraments and daily life, members exercise the baptismal priesthood, offering their lives as a sign of love and self-giving. Here one learns to be generous, patient and to love without reserves.

Image of God the Creator
As God creates and educates, the family participates in his work: to procreate, educate and form in love. Every home is an image of God, responsible for transmitting life, love and hope. The family’s mission begins by first preaching the love of God among its members, in daily self-giving and mutual care.

A mission that illuminates the world
Living the faith in the family is not only caring for one’s own home, it is being a beacon for others. The everyday acts of love and service teach children and show those around us that the Christian life is true and beautiful. The family evangelizes by its example, its commitment and its self-giving.

Prayer and daily life
Family prayer unites and strengthens. Reading the Word of God, praying together and putting God at the center of daily life makes a difference in decisions, behaviors and emotional bonds.
If the home revolves only around the worldly, the sacred dimension of life is lost. A family that prays remains united and transmits faith.

Dignity and responsibility
The Christian family is a living Church present in the world, a reflection of God's love. Each member has the dignity and the responsibility to preach first with life and self-giving to the other. The home not only lives the faith, it radiates it; it forms, accompanies and evangelizes. Being a Christian family is a call to love without limits, to overcome selfishness and to live total self-giving, as God loves us.
